LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA'S SONNET FOR VANESSA AND ORLANDO

Don't know who Lin Manuel-Miranda is? He is KING on Broadway right now. He mixed History with Hip Hop and got "Hamilton"  Now ,he has a megahit on his hands.

You're lucky if you can get tickets to his play below $1000 a seat  on the street if you wanna go last minute. More than that, he's probably tripled the number of black and brown people on stage in New York City all by himself with "Hamilton."

Of course, Danai Gurira's "Eclipsed" and Alice Walker's "The Color Purple," have helped him out in that regard. And six time Tony winner Audra McDonald is in "Shuffle Along" right now too.

LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE
"My wife's the reason anything gets done
    She nudges me towards promise by degrees
    She is a perfect symphony of one
    Our son is her most beautiful reprise.
    We chase the melodies that seem to find us
    Until they're finished songs and start to play
    When senseless acts of tragedy remind us
    That nothing here is promised, not one day.
    This show is proof that history remembers
    We lived through times when hate and fear seemed stronger;
    We rise and fall and light from dying embers, remembrances that hope and love last longer
    And love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside.
    I sing Vanessa's symphony, Eliza tells her story
    Now fill the world with music, love and pride."

    P.S. I've seen Danai's Eclipsed. It was kinda awesome. History lesson in entertainment, but no singing and dancing.
