BLACK WOMEN MATTER: DEATH PENALTY FOR THE GRIM SLEEPER

I don't even believe in the death penalty.

As a black person, I just can't decide to believe the police, prosecutors, and judges on faith. And faith is what it takes to believe in any conviction in this country if the accused is black. And I don't have any left.

Frankly, our justice system scares me in a variety of ways, some of which have nothing to do with race. The grand jury process has been bent in disgusting ways over the years allowing murders in blue to walk time after time after time. And it's been bent by judges and prosecutors who are supposed to be protecting ALL of us.

There are some states talking about getting rid of the grand jury system because it's secret. That's confusing to me  because the reason the secretiveness is a problem is because of what the prosecutor is saying to the grand jury. Why would you put the decision on who to charge, when, and how in the hands of the person MOST LIKELY to be THE PROBLEM in the grand jury system.

Getting rid of the grand jury instead of trying to corral these  prosecutors is like removing 4 hens out of the hen house and adding 4 foxes in their place thinking that'll solve the problem for the 36 hens remaining.

The prosecutors and judges are bigger problems than the police.

They are the ones rubber stamping the murderers in blue. Even if the Darren Wilsons don't kill while cops again. There are dozens of police officers sitting around watching the Darren Wilsons skate. And watching skating sans small women in leotards or tutus is what keeps these officers thinking they can get away with anything with the prosecutor and/or the judge will protect them.  And this is actually true.

I don't even know why policemen need a union or a defense attorney with the judges and prosecutors on their side. The defense attorney has seemed redundant in a number of high profile cop killer cases.

And if we see one conviction of a person that beat Freddie Gray before they put him in that van, I'll be shocked And I'm sorry -- the prosecutor, black or not, saying "The Van Did It" is part of the mess that is the Freddie Gray case.

So all this is why I cannot believe in the finality of the death penalty within a justice system doesn't protect the dark and/or the poor of this country.

Besides, I've worked with groups of 12 people who I wouldn't trust to pass final judgement on a housefly.

And the same California police department that couldn't be bothered to stop Franklin's 20 year killing spree is trying to put a Black Lives Matter activist in jail using a 1933 lynching law because they, apparently, couldn't find any other law to arrest her with during a protest.

I swear -- some of the Lonnie Franklin's and the people who thought up arresting a Black Lives Matter Protester for lynching make me wanna literally believe in a firey pit that some of these MO-FOs can roast in, together, for all eternity.

So I'm going to make an exception for Lonnie Franklin Jr. He's getting the death penalty for killing 10 black women but I watched a documentary that had me believing Franklin may have killed dozens or hundreds over 20 plus years. There are so many black women missing from that area. So many

The police weren't the only ones that didn't bother to try to figure out why so many black women were disappearing either. The story of THE GRIM SLEEPER is horrifying -- It is a story of people who just don't count. It's really that simple.

Diana Ware didn’t think she’d live to see her stepdaughter’s killer brought to justice....

Even after she learned police had arrested the man they believed was responsible in 2010, the waiting continued, year after year, as the case dragged on through the courts.

But on Monday, a Los Angeles County jury brought an end to Ware’s wait, deciding that the man known as the “Grim Sleeper” serial killer should be put to death for a series of murders he committed while stalking South L.A.
