JESUS CHRIST'S SELFIE

What did Jesus Christ look like?

Well we know what he didn't look like. We know he wasn't European because he was born in the area known as the middle east, the part that's less than a hop, skip, and jump from the African border.

One of the other things we know is that Judas kissed Jesus to identify Him for those that wanted to arrest Him.  From Matthew 26: 47-56

While He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. A large mob, with swords and clubs, was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 His betrayer had given them a sign: “The One I kiss, He’s the One; arrest Him!” 49 So he went right up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
50 “Friend,” Jesus asked him, “why have you come?”[a]
Then they came up, took hold of Jesus, and arrested Him. 51 At that moment one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the high priest’s slave and cut off his ear.
52 Then Jesus told him, “Put your sword back in its place because all who take up a sword will perish by a sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions[b] of angels? 54 How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
55 At that time Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal,[c] to capture Me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me. 56 But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures[d] would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away.

If Jesus had looked different than his Galilean Semite disciples, He'd have been easy to pick out. There wouldn't have been a need for Judas to kiss him, as pre-arranged, so that the cops could pick him up.

If Jesus had a Facebook account, this could be his profile picture.
So says Richard Neave,
a medical artist famed for reconstructing legendary faces from antiquit

If Jesus had been white and standing out from the disciples, He probably wouldn't have been able to move freely to talk to anybody, anywhere, at anytime.

The appearance of Jesus clearly isn't as important to his message. But the effort to whiten Jesus is important because it indicates a lot of white Christians haven't gotten his message and are willfully trying not to get it.

The resistance to Jesus' likely appearance is important because it's signifies an inability and/or unwillingness of white Christians to acknowledge Jesus as a middle eastern refugee while also loving Him and worshiping him. This unwillingness to acknowledge white supremacy where there is no active hate is why white racism is so prevalent in the white church and the United States today.

White members of white churches may not understand that their voting for Trump has exposed their belief in white supremacy and their disregard of patriarchal white racism to the people of color and the rest of world. But some white Christian leaders are shocked by their white followers being able to vote for Donald Trump.

Headline

Trump Won. Here's How 20 Evangelical Leaders Feel.

http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2016/november-web-only/trump-won-how-evangelical-leaders-feel.html

Black and brown people, for the most part, are not likely shocked by election of an overt racist heavily supported by white Christians. Black and brown people remember the reason that Sunday Morning used to be the most segregated hour in the U.S. It's called "white racism" not "white working class pain"

Sunday morning would still be the most segregated hour in America if the majority of people attended some sort of religious service.

President Obama being in the white house has brought white racism roaring out from under the political correctness cover with its teeth bared. White people whining about political correctness since Reagan have been telling the rest of us that they believe that anything  not white and male or not white and married-to-a-white-male is to be ridiculed, humiliated, or destroyed.

The only people shocked that white people voted for patriarchal white supremacy in the form of Donald Trump are white people. But I have to admit I'm rather horrified that white Christians can take their white racism straight no-chaser. I was sure they had to have it dog-whistle style to go for white racism so hard.

My mistake.
THE PERCENTAGE OF WHITE EVANGELICAL /
WHITE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS VOTED FOR TRUMP

But the thing that never, ever surprises me are posts like the one I saw posted by a white father a few months ago. The man said he was shocked when he showed his little boy this representation of what Jesus most likely looked like and the boy automatically assumed the man was a criminal. He said he and his fellow white Christians had to do better. But there's a 7 or 8 out of 10 chance he voted to keep on teaching his son the same old patriarchal white supremacy.

If Jesus was to come back to earth twenty years from now, looking anything like the image above, there's a 7 out 10 chance this white man's son would shoot Him if he moved his hands too fast during a traffic stop.

White people who can stand the fed-up-ness of black and brown people in the age of Trump are going to need to explain whiteness and white supremacy to white people. Black and brown people really aren't in the mood to patiently explain anything anymore.

We are especially not in any sort of mood to explain the patterns of whiteness to white people who are running around calling themselves a "Christian" in 2016 after they voted for someone who openly despises everyone who isn't white and male or white-and-married-to-a-white-male.

More important than how people of color are feeling about the somewhat expected betrayal of white Christians as a reason for tossing patience out the window is the fact that hiding our true feelings about hating the sin of white racism hasn't done white Christians any good.

Philip Yancey wrote in one of his books, possibly "What's So Amazing About Grace," that he was raised in a white church at the leading edge of segregation. And, before the actual election, he expressed his shock at how white Christians were lining up behind Trump. What he hasn't expressed so far, and neither has any other white pastor except for Jim Wallis and a couple of others, is what they plan to do about the white supremacy being fed, watered, and nurtured in white churches.

I hope they're praying on that this Christmas. I hope they're praying that the next action that they choose to take is the right one instead praying for God to take away the responsibility of freedom of choice -- because their choice to pretend their all white audiences have been constructed out of happenstance instead of the defacto segregation they love has had ugly consequences.

Seven and eight year old white boys can take a likely image of Christ and mistake Him for a criminal based on his skin color and lack of white facial features.

MORE WHITE RACISM AIMED AT MICHELLE OBAMA BY A DR MICHELLE HERREN OF DENVER HEALTH

Feeling Rebloggy
Dr. Michelle Herren, a pediatric anesthesiologist, was responding to praise of Obama, a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law, that was posted by one of Nietto’s friends, who called the first lady eloquent.

  • “Doesn’t seem to be speaking too eloquently here, thank god we can’t hear her!” said the post, which included a picture of Obama, her face contorted in a scream. “Harvard??? That’s a place for ‘entitled’ folks said all the liberals!”
  • Another comment followed: “Monkey face and poor ebonic English!!! There! I feel better and am still not racist!!! Just calling it like it is!”

Denver Health [which reportedly serves a diverse population] is researching legal options to discipline Herren, said Kelli Christensen, hospital spokeswoman. Later Denver Health issued the following statement: “Until further notice, Michelle Herren, MD, will not be seeing patients or providing anesthesia services at Denver Health.”

HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS TO MY CHILDREN?

Van Jones gives voice to the ‘nightmare’
some are feeling

In the video below: In addition to a lot of people of color dreading having to talk their children about lying, bullying, and bigotry at breakfast after a Donald Trump win, Van Jones talks about how some friends of his are so afraid they are asking if they should leave the country.

DID WHITE MALE COPS THROW THE WHITE FEMALE COP UNDER THE BUS?

Some think a white man wouldn't have been arrested as fast as Betty Shelby was for the murder of Terence Crutcher. I don't think I care if she was or wasn't. But it's probably true that she was thrown head first under the bus by her white male colleagues.
  1. White men threw white women under the bus when they gave black men the vote first.
  2. White men throw white women under the bus whenever a man rapes a woman that's not a wife.
  3. White men throw white women under the bus if a black person is making them money hand over fist (Bill Cosby, Ball Players -- until they retire, then all bets are off
  4. I won't go look up the details. But I'm almost sure that one of the first people fired after the federal probe in Ferguson was some low level woman within Darren Wilson's police department or the associate court.

  5. Conclusion: Male supremacy is as real as white supremacy.

From Clutch Magazine Online

If there’s one thing all of these incidents have shown us it’s that officers protect their own, and considering “Law enforcement is one of the least gender diverse of any public-sector profession, with male officers accounting for more than 88 percent of the nation’s municipal police forces,” it can be assumed "their own” is men.  And in a field where 73% of officers are white, one can also assume “their own” is white men.
Hence the feeling Shelby has been hung out to dry while the old boys in blue club continues with plans to conduct business as usual — or rather murder as usual.
Further, “Data show that female cops discharge their firearms at rates far below their male counterparts, face significantly fewer civilian complaints and are less likely than men to resort to unnecessary physical force when arresting someone,” Aljazeera pointed out. Officer Shelby’s behavior clearly contradicts these findings; however I can’t help but speculate that, if convicted, her criminal punishment won’t send the message that it should to the police force. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if sexist rhetoric was implored to explain away her possible conviction instead of officers finally understanding that you cannot continue to kill black men and women and get away with it...

Female cops aren’t the problem; white male cops aren’t even the problem; racist, poorly trained cops who fear those they’ve been tasked to protect are the problem.

http://www.clutchmagonline.com/2016/09/terencecrutcher-would-betty-shelby-have-been-charged-so-soon-or-at-all-if-she-was-a-white-man/
I don't agree with a crucial point here. White male cops being such a huge presence in police forces nationwide is the problem.

The safety in numbers feeling that whiteness gives white people in this country is always the problem. And the funny thing is this: White people feeling like their safety is dwindling because their relatives numbers are dwindling --as they are now "only" 2/3rds of the country-- is making them even more dangerous to people of color, and especially dangerous to black people who shame them by simply continuing to exist beyond the years of slavery.
White people pretend to forget slavery and divorce its effect from the present. But they know.  Shame in the short term makes people sorrowful. But long term shame? It makes people evil.
There's a story in the bible about one of King Solomon's sons that sexually desires his sister. He's after her, after her, after her. Finally he traps her and rapes her. After he gets what he wants, he hates her
Do you know why Solomon's son hates the woman he raped? He hates her because he sees her every day and he's ashamed. Most people want to get out from under feeling ashamed after a while. And the only way they can get that done is to blame the victim.

This is why you cannot divorce white supremacy, white entitlement, male supremacy, and fear of losing social power that lives inside each white male cop from the white racism in a uniform that seeks to execute black people.
All white male cops may not have enough racism in them to qualify as "a racist" And I won't ever believe in anybody's purity as far as having bias in favor of me-and-mine, regardless of skin color. But all that white bonding combined with white entitlement holds 73% of this country's male cops together. And it is within that white, male, police force crucible that us-cowards versus them-n*ggers is created.

White-cowardly-us mentally turns to white racism as justification for shooting black people for little or no reason. That doesn't have anything to do with training unless you're talking about diversity training.
And I thought we were over diversity training. I thought that was a done deal by now. I thought we all understood that diversity training is limited in its ability to  solve the human desire that a lot of  humans have to be superior to another. And it is that desire to be superior, that desire to have power-over, which leads to the irresistible desire to let somebody know you are superior by humiliating them or flat out killing them when they refuse to bow down.

Diversity training assumes lack of familiarity or misunderstanding.  That's wrong for the most part. What should be assumed instead is that white people, especially low education, lower middle class and poor white people are seeking to stand on somebody else so as to feel superior and that includes the lowly white male people with guns called policemen.

People that feel like nothing because they don't have a lot of money in a capitalist society are always going to be looking for somebody to stand on. That was true 200 years ago. It's true now. And cops in their early years don't make much money.

Back in the day, the slave master's minion, the overseer, and the slave masters paddy rollers too were both motivated by the same violent white supremacy desires that you find in a large percentage of 73% of cops today.
And I do actually think that a violent white supremacy lives in the vast majority of white cops, white prosecutors, and white judges. Know why?

Just like slavery couldn't work
without 90% or more participation from all whites,
including poor whites
(or else slaves could easily have run away),
the white cop murderers can't murder
without 90% of white cops deciding to not-see what really happened

when they were less than a foot away from their brother murderer in blue.
Then white judges and white prosecutors come along
and decide to not-see an obvious murder too

And the white people in North Carolina
have gone so far as to pass a law to make sure
the police don't have to give up police dashcam and police bodycam video
of the suspected murder of a black person
without a subpeona
-- videos paid for with tax dollars.
Believe me. ONLY WHITE LIVES MATTER can't work without massive white support, just like slavery didn't.
And for anybody still unsure about just how deep the white racism goes in police departments across this country, please be reminded that the largest police unions in this country recently decided to support Donald Trump, the most prominent face of racism today.
The Fraternal Order of Police, which bills itself as the largest police union in the world, endorsed Donald J. Trump (R) for president Friday, saying that Trump “understands and supports our priorities, and our members believe he will make America safe again.”

Trump responded to a 12-page questionnaire from the FOP and then met with its leaders last month in Trump Tower, the union’s executive director, Jim Pasco, said Friday. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton did not respond to the questionnaire until weeks after the early August deadline had passed, Pasco said, which did not give the FOP time to distribute her answers to state lodges across the state, and the union did not meet with her.

The FOP did not endorse a presidential candidate in 2012, and has not endorsed a Democratic candidate since Bill Clinton in 1996, Pasco said. [But they went out of their way to support Trump. Message received]

SOOO...
The thing that bugs me about this white woman cop going to jail so fast when white men cops don't is similar to what bugs the author.
Yeah, I think this woman would have been protected if she was one of the boys. She's being thrown to the wolves because she's a panicky female (despite women cops firing their weapons a lot less). And her panicky female stereotype is going to get the blame instead of her whiteness.

The white-sounding-man in the helicopter labeled Terence Crutcher as big, black, scary monster guy stereotype almost instantly.  That is, the white sounding man in the helicopter brought his white racism to the scene of the crime (or hovered above it) And the female officer, Betty Shelby, brought her white racism with her to the scene of the crime too. Only she was on the ground, closer to big black scary monster guy and was able to shoot the big black demon she saw in front of her --just like Darren Wilson did.

I say chances are better than 50/50 a white jury is going to see the same thing the white-sounding male officer in the helicopter did, the Darren Wilson did, and then find themselves sympathetic.
Only White Lives Matter is going to be the song they're singing...again.

WHEN THE SOCIOPATH NEXT DOOR IS AN AUTHOR

SPOILERS:
An Outline Of The First Half OF

"The Wilson Family Project"*

1) An racially mixed family is practically in charge of the United States even though Hillary Clinton is president.

2) the United States powers that be tells the 1% to go sit down so that the United States becomes economic nirvana, thanks to the influence of White Savior Mama Wilson.

3) Everybody on the planet is allowed to apply to immigrate here to U.S. now that there's enough for everybody on the planet to come to the United States -- due to economic nirvana (???)

4) After every CEO in the United States is told he/she will not be allowed to make more than 4x more than their lowest paid employee (the janitor), due to white savior Mama Wilson again,  the 1% only grumble when this economic change is made.

5) Every woman on the planet has contracted a virus that has left them unable to bear children.

"THE WILSON PROJECT" CONTINUED:

SOCIOPATH GENERATED RACISM
IN A NOVEL

Premise 1: Every human being on earth is going to die due to a virus that stops women from getting pregnant.

Premise 2: The genius white male doctor almost instantly finds a cure that's in limited supply.

Genius white male doctor and his good interracial philanthropic family, including spouses, go into business to disperse the cure and save the world.
But they decide to only make it available to predominantly white United States and Canada at first (but it is not made available to drug cartel having, badly run Mexico. Donald Trump's wall must be up in the novel's new world order)
A few pages later when supplies of this miracle cure increase, the family makes the cure available to predominantly white Western Europe only.

Oooh, but there IS enough for Eastern Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, and Africa too but their behavior on human rights records are not up to snuff. When these areas become as good as the predominantly white countries of United States, Canada, and Western Europe, they will be allowed to have children again.

However, in order for a couple (a man and a woman)
to even be considered for the procedure
(get permission to have a child)
one has to fill out an application and pay the fee.

  1. In this story, anybody who cannot afford the $12,000 fee to have the in vitro fertilization procedure shouldn't be having children anyway because they are too poor and that's irresponsible (The working poor don't exist in this story but somehow welfare recipients still do exist -- and are behaving as if entitled and irresponsible for even wanting children)
  2. If gay women want to have a baby, the father (sperm donor) has to apply too; and if the sperm donor changes his mind about wanting to stay a part of the baby's life, too bad because babies should have a father anyway.
  3.  And nobody under the age of 27 will be able to apply either.

In other words, the author thinks that everybody should have children exactly when upper middle class heterosexual white people ideally(?) have children now -- after grad school age because they can afford grad school.

This story is already a KKK members wet dream. But then the author's inner white racist sociopath still hasn't come all the way out yet.

In the last few chapters of the novel, the author tells us that white savior Daddy did not die in an accident or old age.

It turns out white savior Mommy murdered white savior Daddy because he created a virus to sterilized all women, on purpose. He did so in order to punish people for having children inappropriately and abusing them.

Just when the reader thinks the virus accidentally got out, White Savior Mommy says she released the virus on purpose to control who would be allowed to have children -- since she knew her white son would find a cure before the planet died.

All three adopted children and their spouses are horrified by this and are afraid of going to jail, but they see white savior Mommy's very white, superior, American point. After white savior Mommy commits suicide. They start thinking about how much good has come out of the white and white-by-proxy family members coming together to dictate exactly who can have children and when.

Some other people come along and find out Mommy and Daddy white saviors were psychopaths and also find the cure that they plan to give to everyone in the world. But these bad people die in an plane accident.

So the white man and his white supremacist soaked brother and sister keep control of who can and cannot have children in new economic nirvana that is the United States, and their control keeps peace through out the world.

The end.

The author's anti-social wish was to make sure nobody on the planet can have babies unless white people and people absorbed into whiteness in predominantly white countries say so.

This book was so racist,
WITHOUT overt hate
but chock full of white supremacy,
that I was wondering if Donald Trump (Ethnoracist)
and Bernie Sanders (Paternalism Specialist)
had somehow managed to have a baby together
20 to 40 years back
then somehow got Hitler's ghost to be it's nanny

and home school teacher,
then encouraged it to write a book.

Most of this author's approach to world peace seems to be Master Race Theory / Mein Kampf Part 2 -- the colorblind racist 2016 American version.

I know there are a lot of people walking around, un-caged, that are seen as "normal" who are sociopaths. Like I said, I've met a few of them.

However, I also know that "good people" are capable of great evil when severely stressed or when slightly stressed by things they've mostly created in their own mind.

And somehow group dynamics have led large numbers of "normal" human beings to go to beheadings in medieval Europe, hangings everywhere, and lynchings in the United States; And they went to see these beheadings,  hangings, and lynchings as if they are going to a party or a football game.
There are actual modern depictions of the joy people used to feel when they went to watch "a good hanging" in old westerns on television. History books talk of white people lynching black people, burning the bodies, then taking body parts as souvenirs.

So I know there are a lot more sociopaths running around than we like to admit. And maybe the author of "The Sociopath Nextdoor" is right, every 1 out of 25 people in this country is a sociopath. But tell me who, other than a white racist sociopath, wrote this book?

Also tell me how an author capable of writing this,
a book where all the black, brown, latinx, middle eastern, and asian people
are amoral, stupid, entitled, angry, and irresponsible
(at least those not lucky enough to be raised by murderous white savior adoptive parents )
is not also capable of deciding her next book should have more action sequences
where the inferior non-white people are also violent.

Tell me how authors who regurgitate racist ideas in story form (books, television, movies) are not reinforcing stereotypes and creating race based terror in the heads of police officers who are murdering black and brown people.

Some of the predominantly white officers that have murdered so many black people over the decades are straight liars as far as "being afraid for my life." (Darren Wilson)

But there are others like that coward that murdered Philando Castile almost wet himself he was so terrified. And since it sounds like nothing was happening that the officer should have been afraid of, the officer had to have been afraid of what was happening in his own head --- based on the sight of dark brown skin on a fellow human being.

Do you know what reviewers of this book noticed on Amazon? They noticed the Bernie Sanders type redistribution of wealth but not the white republican assumptions that "private organizations" will take care of the poor and also not the sociopathic levels racism.

Only a few people read and commented on this book, but does the lack of commentary on the racism mean that the racism went unnoticed? And did the sociopathic levels of racism go unnoticed because it's so "normal?"

I've read white review after white review of what Donald Trump's chances of becoming president are. And it amazes me how many of these articles will talk about Trump's appeal (to white people) without mentioning his ethnoracism once.  And it's not like there's some noticeable hole in the article. It's like the author's of the pieces just don't notice Donald Trump's racism that much.

I can't wait to see how close the next presidential race is or isn't. If that doesn't represent the taking of this country's racial temperature, I don't know what will be. We won't learn much about the 1 in 25 black, brown, latinx, asian, and "middle eastern" people who are sociopaths in this country. But I think we're going to get a fairly good idea about what's going on with the 1 in 25 white folks.

If I'm optimistic, I think 98% of all people on the planet harbor some form of prejudice. I just don't think anyone but a miraculous few are "pure" with all the biased crap we take in everyday without noticing. Staying on the subject of race, white supremacy even  influences black and brown people to prefer whiteness in various areas of life.  Of that 98% more than half have active, obvious negative race based assumptions about other races, and that's people of all colors.

But only white people can willfully remain so ignorant of racial others because only white people, being the numerical majority, can go to school, to socialize, and work and only be with other white people -- and not notice it and not notice the things they take for granted as "normal" (white privilege). And a piece of what's inside white privilege is systemic (white) racism.

After the election, if I'm feeling optimistic, I'm going to wonder if whatever percentage voted for Trump is numb to white racism because they are harboring significant quantities of white racism they feels "normal" rather than feeling like the evil of racism.

If I'm optimistic, after the election, I'm wondering if I'm going to estimate that 1 in 25 of those folks represent numbers of racist sociopaths that are virtually unchangeable -- because, in my experience, sociopaths like being who exactly who they are and they assume everybody else is just like them, but hiding it.

I'm also going to estimate, if I'm optimistic, that the white people that voted for Hillary and those who refused to vote at all because the paternalistic Bernie Sanders isn't running are also unchangeable 1 out of 25 times. (I'd almost rather talk to a KKK member that has never been around a black person before than a paternalistic white person that knows everything about black people already and how they're going to be the white savior.)

Again, if this upcoming presidential election doesn't represent the taking of this country's racial temperature, I don't know what will be.

THE RACIST SOCIOPATH NEXT DOOR

There was a period in my life when I was more actively into general self-improvement than I am now. I spoke to many people. I thought deep thoughts. I read a bunch of books.

During this period, I came across a book called "The Sociopath Next Door." I wanted to read this book, but I resisted the urge because I had already made a decision to stop reading books that agree with a position I already hold ...unless there is some indication the book has some sort of solution to a problem in it.

All "The Sociopath Next Door" aimed to do was convince the reader that sociopaths are not all Hannibal Lectors and are more common than most of us think.

And I already knew that. So I didn't need to read the book.

I'm not a psychiatrist or a psychologist, but I'm pretty sure I've personally known two, maybe three, people that qualify as the sociopaths.

More than that, I think the only reason two out of three of them are NOT serial killing people right now is because they never happened upon a charming serial killer who might have explained to them how much fun and satisfying a grisly murder can be.

I think I'm not kidding.

These two people I'm thinking about seemed like they were born extra hollow or something, like anything or anybody that came along could fill them up with anything. The two people I'm thinking about seemed like they imitated decent behavior until something they wanted passed beneath their nose and they lunged at it no matter who was in their way.

When I'm not thinking of these two particular people --both of whom happened to be people of color and not necessarily prejudiced-- I tend to think that each human being's personality, character, etc is based 50% nature and 50% nurture --

  • "nature" being how you physically came out of the womb, your personal biology, brain chemicals, and
  • "nurture" being who you are raised by, friends that influence you, your environment, your culture.

But having to deal with aspects of white supremacy daily, I do tend to focus more on **nurture** rather than nature. I've always thought that every-day-white-supremacy, in its subtler forms, is taught (nurtured) and passed from generation to generation. And I've been relatively sure that the overt hatred aspect of racism, culturally unpopular theses days, has pretty much been removed from a significant portion of white racism -- when white people are in public.  Lawrence Bobo once said that the Civil Rights Movement taught white people what they were allowed to say and not say about racism even when there was no deep introspection to eliminate racist belief.

But  the hate inside white racism will most certainly overtly return, despite all denials by people like Donald Trump, as white people feel their white privilege decreasing which is a result of the country becoming browner and browner.  If some of us think the Tea Party and Donald Trump is bad, I think some of us are in for a few more rude awakenings yet.

But we're talking about the right here and right now. And in the here and now overtly hate filled racism is still not very popular. The proof of this is that an ex grand dragon(?) of the KKK had to claim he WASN'T a racist --for so long as he was running for office in Louisiana in the early 1990s. Donald Trump has to claim he's not a racist now in order to be publicly palatable in most circles.

In the here and now, despite the fact that hate groups surged after President Obama was elected, the white hate groups are still fringe groups in the U.S. I'd say the white hate groups are now double thickness fringe or 1 and quarter thickness fringed, whatever the case may be.

Therefore, I believe that the most important part of systemic white supremacy and unacknowledged white racism that black and brown people are on the receiving end of now is born and reproduced out of a rational and willful ignorance and also a willful lack of empathy -- most of which I believe is passed down, as stated before.

One of the ways that white racism and white supremacy is passed down is through things said and unsaid in the white home. The other ways white racism and white supremacy is reproduced is through the stories that white people tell about themselves in relation to others via movies, television, and novels.

I've only read pieces of Ayn Rand's work "Atlas Shrugged" and suspected she was a sociopath immediately. I was surprised to find this quote and realize that she knew she was one too. But the author of a novel I just finished reading/skimming called "The Wilson Project" clearly has no such insight into herself. And I'm wondering how representative of White America she is.

PART 1 OF "THE WILSON PROJECT"

STANDARD WHITE RACISM IN A NOVEL

"The Wilson Project" starts off three adult siblings of various races that had been adopted as children by a very rich white woman and her very rich (now dead) husband.

  • The central hero of the story is the adopted white male who is now a humble genius doctor. His race nor the race of any of the other white characters is mentioned because that's just "normal" (Yes, I'm being sarcastic.)
  • The second sibling introduced is a black female lawyer who is angry 3 out of every 4 times she is mentioned, even when she's crying and upset. She's even introduced as controlling herself, stopping herself from using her fists in her very first scenes -- just inside or outside a courtroom. She even cries angrily. (i'm not kidding.)
  • The third sibling is introduced in a scene where he is being cussed out by a pregnant, black, teenage girl whose language can be basically described as a corny/idiotic interpretation of "ebonics." This black girl is telling the third adult sibling how she's entitled to everything on the planet without working for a thing, ever. We get a hint that the third sibling is Puerto Rican man when the white male brother calls him on the phone and refers to him as a "spic" as a joke  (-- because the author wants to make sure we understand IMMEDIATELY that  racial epithets uttered by "good people" don't really mean anything.)

This represents how race is presented in the first two chapters of this book. It is ironic that this represents an effort by the author to establish that this story is set within a colorblind family and a colorblind society.

All of the above is standard crap you'll find in a bunch of books written by a bunch of white people in 1980s to 1990s and still some books being written by white people right now. It's usually just not presented all at once.

Frankly, whenever I read a book by a white author I am relieved when all of the characters are white. Too many white people, including white authors, appear to think that race is the biology of skin color and nothing more instead of sociology... right up until they want the POC character to improve themselves. That is the point at which a white savior can socialize a black or Puerto Rican person into being a better person than they would have been with their poor, irresponsible, violent, non-white natural parents.  This is why white authors will typically insert  POC characters that are:

1) flatly stereotypical and threatening, reinforcing violent stereotypes that white people already react to (Philando Castile)

 OR

2) have POC characters that are stereotypical and simultaneously atypical, who say and believe things that Clarence Thomas, Tiger Woods, and Bill Cosby say and appear to believe without any of the crazy, contradictory stressors that leak out of Clarence Thomas, Tiger Woods, and Bill Cosby --and leak out in such an obvious manner that white people who are NOT SOCIOLOGY-OF-RACE-SAAVY can see it.

However, the author of "The Wilson Project" book didn't truly reveal her wavy, inner-crazy, white supremacist sociopath until she arranged the story so that:

1) the United States powers that be tells the 1% to go sit down so that the United States becomes economic nirvana
2) everybody on the planet is allowed to apply to immigrate here to U.S.

3) after every CEO in the United States is told he/she will not be allowed to make more than 4x more than their lowest paid employee (the janitor). The 1% only grumble when this economic change is made.
4) every woman on the planet has contracted a virus that has left them unable to bear children.

Note:  "The Wilson Project" is not the real name of the book as I don't want to get sued.

YOUNG, JILTED, AND WHITE

“Scott Roof, who identified himself as the suspect’s cousin, told The Intercept that “Dylann was normal until he started listening to that white power music stuff.”

He claims that “he kind of went over the edge when a girl he liked starting dating a black guy two years back.” He added, “Dylann liked her … The black guy got her”

FEELING REBLOGGY

Well duh.

This is for the [mostly white] people who say “it starts with teaching our kids…” in conversations about systemic racism. And for those who retort “well, I have a more hopeful view for the future” when I point out how entrenched and embedded white supremacy is.

This is your kid. This is the future.

I don’t know where you people are getting this hope and optimism from, but coming from a black “millennial” who grew up in fully integrated schools and has a rainbow coalition of friends and acquaintances, your vision is blurred. I understand why. You see that your kids have black and brown friends and seem to get along well. There’s an interracial couple living next door. Social interactions look to be on an upswing. And from your suburban perch, things look pretty sweet. But you don’t see the countless microaggressions your son’s little football player friends endure. You don’t notice the husband neighbor’s family never visits, because the wife gets anxious when they’re around. Those things are easier to overlook.

Because things have gotten better… on a base level. I guess black people have more access, financial ability and rights on paper than we did 40 years ago. Offices are a little more colorful. Brown folk are much more visible in the workplace, in popular culture, in magazines, on TV. And there lies the problem.

Where you see a generation of kids raised in a melting pot, I see a generation of kids experiencing a culture shock. Because most white people don’t recognize or admit and certainly don’t talk about privilege overtly. But you practice it. And you still raise your children in it. So these kids start approaching adulthood and find the perks they were promised ain’t as easy to grab as they were for their parents...

WHITE STUDIES

Continued from Part 1:  "i don't exactly hate being white."
Since white racism is the central race problem in this country and most European ones too based on the Cecile Emeke Series I've been watching, it stands to reason that is whiteness that must be studied -- and not so much the victimization of black and brown people because that doesn't decrease the victimization.

You want to figure out who the criminal is, you study the victim looking for clues the criminal left. But once you know who the criminal is but find you cannot put him in jail because you don't have the right laws in place, you study the criminal and his motives and his habits and create the detailed laws you need.
not officially a "white studies" book

In an oversimplified way, this describes how every law ever written was first thought out and created.
The crime of racism is no different.  And the racism that matters is the racism that is systemic because when it's not systemic, you can be refused a job at company A walk down the street and get a job at company B. Therefore the racists that matter, in this country, are the ones that are white. The white people in this country, unaware of their own racism or not, are the ones with the numbers and the power to perform systemic racism. That makes white folk the problem, the criminal to be studied.
Therefore I'm glad that sociologist study an entire subject called "White Studies."

One of the things that black sociologists focus on within White Studies is the white person's tendency to assume that their perspective is "normal" while everyone else's perspective is "raced" and therefore "biased."

I think one of the keys to blasting white people out of their "normal" comfort zone into realizing that they have a raced perspective, which also means, as part of the dominant culture, that they probably have "racist" ideas about other groups that don't have to involve "hate"  IF they've never taken the time to examine their own top-of-the-heap perspectives passed down to them generation to generation along with their assumptions of "normal"

I cannot be amazed at the racism I hear coming out of white people's mouths at least two or three times a month. But every now and again I do tune into myself and realize I am shocked at white people's own lack of self-awareness. And I'm not talking about white racism washing over me from news broadcasts either. I'm not talking about anonymous type stuff. I'm talking about in-my-face, person-to-person white racism batting me around a bit, that perfectly "nice" and "pleasant" white people are not even slightly aware of. But their racist belief systems are so subtle it would take me two hours to try and breakdown the negative race-based statement that the person expressed today, that the white person expressed yesterday and the day before, and also the pattern they're showing every time they open their mouth ----
-if the unaware white person's fragility didn't dissolve them into a teary mess before 2 minutes had passed,  much less 2 hours.

And this kind of painful explaining is something I would only owe a friend.  So mostly --at work, on the street, wherever-- I listen, digest it, regurgitate the problems of whiteness as I see them.  It's important for me to do this. It's important for you to do it. It's important, period.

People will read what I and other bloggers and comment-ers and social media wizards write then create videos and books that maybe some white people, like the young white woman quoted yesterday, will watch, read, and repeat something healthy themselves.

Make no mistake, when it comes to race and racism in this country 90% of the changing that needs to done needs to be done by white people. It is their systematic oppression that is the seed of the problems in this country. And some of the actual "racists" know it deep down.  When (white) privilege that feels like normal" starts to slip away --black president, vocal black lives matter movement, black controlled television and movies-- some white people feel quite violent about losing what they feel they are entitled to  -- which is why violent rhetoric of Donald Trump is popular with so many white people on the right.

In November, if Trump winds up being the Republican Nominee,  we're going to find out what percentage of white people can deny their own racism and the racism of others. We're also going to find out just how big the internalized racism problem is in each race and each ethnic group -- because Trump has made it quite apparent that he holds in contempt every single group not white. And, while I may eventually be forced to make allowances for those who don 't speak English well,  for now, I'm going to say that every single body who can't see Trump for what he is has some form of ethno-racism problem.

Once the election is over, if the Donald Trump is the nominee, we're going to be able to count the racists and internalized-ethnoracists by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation because there's always a detailed breakdown of who voted for who.

We're all gonna know.

There are white writers on the right and white writers on the left writing and yakety-yakking about all kinds of reasons why, other than racism,  that white people like Trump. And I have one thing to say to them: "It's the racism stupid."

Talking about Trump's politics and Trump lovers without talking about racism is like saying, "Well Hitler was fine except for the anti-semitism. He actual had a point about this, that, and the other policies."

Trump's racism is his core and it's at the core of his supporters too.

Come November
We're all gonna know.

i don't exactly hate being white...

"i don't exactly hate being white. i don't talk about this often because i don't want to be appropriative or anything but i think it would be nice to not be white because i have always had trouble liking the features my heritage has given me, and i think other features typical of other races and even regionally are much more beautiful. i definitely hold a grudge against other white people and i too assume they're bigoted until they prove otherwise because i've just met so many who are and the "benefit of the doubt" has blown up in my face so many times. i don't get mad at people for thinking that of me though. i think it just kind of comes with the territory of privilege and if it doesn't apply to me then i shouldn't be mad about it and i'll just keep being me." ~AH

Of course I've found out people were racists all of a sudden. But this doesn't happen to me too often. I've been on this planet a long time. And I've been black in the United States for all of it.

My awareness is pretty good most days. There are usually what I call "iceberg comments" before you get too deep into a relationship with a person. These comments on the top of the water give you very good idea of what's going on beneath the surface. And you can step away.

So I don't get surprised by racism too often.

But I never thought about what it must be like to be white, be relatively unaware of white privilege and unaware of yourself as raced-person TOO, then have something like Trayvon Martin or Renisha McBride happen. AND THEN listen to close relatives, friends, and co-workers start spewing racism...that you never knew was there.

It's one thing for this to happen to a black person. Nothing about it is shocking. Or it shouldn't be. It's just like disappointment----again and again and again.

But it has to be a nastiest of shocks when racism explodes WITHIN somebody close to you and comes out. And then you start looking around and seeing the subtler signs of it in an ever widening circle around you.

There's a lot to unpack here.

WHITE WOMEN BENEFIT MOST FROM AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

BUT THEY'RE AGAINST IT,
IN LARGE NUMBERS

A 1995 report by the Department of Labor found that 6 million women overall had advances at their job that would not have been possible without affirmative action. The percentage of women physicians tripled between 1970 and 2002, from 7.6 percent to 25.2 percent, and in 2009 women were receiving a majority of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, according to the American Association of University Women. To be clear, these numbers include women of all races; however, breaking down affirmative action beneficiaries by race and gender seems to be rare in reported data...

Sex discrimination protections were not included when affirmative action policy was initially institutionalized in the 1960s....October 1967, following pressure from the surging Women's Movement, that President Johnson amended an earlier order to include gender provisions.

Women have achieved so much over the last few decades due to Affirmative Action, it is hard to even imagine what the world was like before. Women are no more or less expected to go to college and they are a huge part of the work force. The difference between 1960s to 2016 is like night and day.

And yet, "[a]ccording to the 2014 Cooperative Congressional Election Study, nearly 70 percent of the 20,694 self-identified non-Hispanic white women surveyed either somewhat or strongly opposed affirmative action" because they assume Affirmative Action is all about race and have erased the ways they've benefited from their memory banks.

Much like Clarence Thomas, those that do remember how they profited from Affirmative Action, they don't think it's necessary any more because 'I've made it and so have the people I actually care about.  In fact, anybody who hadn't made it by the time I made it is clearly lazy.'
