Let's use California as one example. California would be the first stage of economic collapse if it was even possible to pack up undocumented workers, put them in box, and export them all at once. As I recall California supplies a huge percentage of this countries food/fruit/rice.
According to the latest statistics compiled by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the state produces almost half of all the fruits, nuts and vegetables grown in the country, as well as a whopping share of the livestock and dairy.

The California economy damn near completely dependent on undocumented workers.
Out in Cali undocumented workers are doing the cooking, the cleaning, the farm work, and a lot construction, most of it for subsistence wages. And they pay taxes too. A bunch of hotels feeding tourists into Disneyland (and the businesses that supply the hotels) would probably shut down the day after the undocumented workers disappeared.
In other words, there's a whole bunch of people paying undocumented workers LOW @$$ WAGES in California because undocumented workers are DESPERATE.
They are the new slaves.
And if the new slaves disappear SUDDENLY, the employer class is going to have to pay a REAL AMERICAN WAGE to people born here, which sounds good until you start paying $10 for each orange.
These barely graduated 3rd grade white folks in the sticks who voted for Trump thinking they are owed a middle class job based on whiteness despite zero skills wouldn't be able to afford to eat if Trump was to suddenly get rid of undocumented workers.
Business owners pass on costs to the consumer. That's us. And since big business doesn't want to lose a huge number of consumers their consumers to poverty, big business is going to fight him.
Making undocumented workers legal is the profitable and ethical answer to the immigration problem How slowly so as to not damage the economy? I don't know.
All Mean Tangerine is going to wind up doing is making it legal to harass them and jail them endlessly while we, Americans making above a middle class wage, profit from the cheap labor of those remaining.
Meanwhile, actual acts of illegal immigration is going to continue unabated since even Republicans are laughing about his build a wall lie.
