Quote On Being A Black Entrepeneur

"There's been a huge push for entrepreneurship lately, and I love it. I want to encourage people to pursue their passions. HOWEVER, some entrepreneurs have been sitting on high horses and calling it empowerment. I've seen memes and Facebook statuses from people who own their businesses deriding people for sitting in cubicles and "building wealth for someone else."
Listen here. This grind is not for everyone. This life is not for everyone. People have the right to sit at a desk where someone else is signing their checks. It is their prerogative, and just because you choose to work for yourself does not mean it's everyone else's path. Some people cannot afford to take giant leaps of faith because they have to adult and there are other people counting on them for food, roof and well-being.

Shout out to you for your journey. But do not tell someone that the fact that they want a steady paycheck every 2 weeks somehow makes them less ambitious. The months of you not knowing how to pay your rent on the way to pursuing your dreams aren't months everyone can afford to have.

All our journeys are different. But do not sepia tone this entrepreneurship life.

Keep it cute, folks.

Keep it humble."

Awesomely Luvvie
