NETFLIX ANNOUNCES UNLIMITED PARENTAL LEAVE FOR FIRST YEAR AFTER BIRTH OF CHILD

"Allowing parents to take off as much time as the like during their children's first year, the policy aims to retain talent in tech's competitive landscape."

This is a major victory for parents everywhere but especially women since they are still most often the one to take off work.

In federal service, where men have had paternity leave for a while, both parents take turns staying home with the child.  It's good to see Corporate America headed in the same direction. Husbands/Boyfriends/Girlfriends/Significant Others, people other than the birth mother will have the ability to take off work and bond with the child during the first year.

Tech companies will almost have to think about following in Netflix footsteps if they want to retain talent.
