THE VIOLENT AND GENTLE ARRESTS OF BLACK GENELE LAIRD AND WHITE MICHELE MANHUNT

After an incident inside a mall in Wisconsin, police decide to arrest a young black woman on the basis of the contents of a 911 call sans any investigation of her claims that somebody stole her cell phone

She is knee-ed in the stomach repeatedly, punched, then tasered over and over again --mostly not at center mass, but tasers kill sometimes. Natasha McKenna died of being tasered too many times. And a number of deaths at hands of police have happened that way.

A 220 pound male friend of mine was tased once in the leg during a demonstration at a mall (the dummy volunteered) and he screeched "like  a girl."  The cop in this video tasered Laird over and over again, not once, and out of revenge. The cop said, "You spit in my eye," just before he started laying into her with the taser.

Before you watch the video, try to picture a white cop doing this to a young white girl that's maybe 125 pounds?

Can you imagine a teacher or people that work at drug rehabs or halfway houses around the country would NOT be able to subdue somebody this small with kneeing them in the stomach, tasering them over and over, then putting a bag over the subject's head?

Yeah, Laird shouldn't have mouthed off. But she's the potential criminal in this situation. I'm not sure they should have arrested her at all unless the arrested the other person involved. But that's not the point. The point is HOW they arrested her.
Background:

The police claim they were called to the mall because a woman (Laird) was "acting out of control" at a Taco Bell. Some stories say that Laird was confronting an employee about a stolen cell phone. At some point a knife was mentioned.

So now I'm wondering if the knife was plastic since the Laird's been put into a "restorative justice program" instead of jail.

If someone waved a knife a me and threatened me, and I hadn't stolen her cell phone, I wouldn't care how badly she'd been beat up by police.  That's a separate subject. As the victim of somebody waving a knife at me, I would not be so magnanimous as to agree to sign off letting Laird complete some sort of coursework / program.

If you wave a weapon at me, you're going to jail.

So I really don't think a predominantly white police department with officers capable of beating a young black girl for being black is capable of more forgiveness than me.  And I just cannot believe the police would suggest a "restorative justice" program if Laird had committed "a real crime"

Therefore I'm going to have to call bullsh**

Somebody or a bunch of somebodies are lying, sins-of-omissioning all over the place.

I really want to know if she happened to have a knife in her purse. I want to know if the knife she was "brandishing" was a plastic fast food restaurant knife that happened to be in her hand when she noticed her phone was missing. That's the only way I can see her not being in jail right now.

This low key response to Laird, "giving her a break" is likely a smoke screen. They're trying to take our eye off the ball -- the ball being putting the cops in jail for assault and a bad arrest.

I also want to know why they arrested her in the first place, without also arresting the person she accused of stealing her phone.
If you're going to sort everything out at the police station -- especially after the incident is over and the girl is already outside the mall, leaving - then arrest everybody involved.  Wouldn't you think this is common sense-- when one of the parties involved is not black? And I'm' thinking the police are not supposed to just believe the person standing closest to the one who called 911 first, like a game of musical chairs is being played.

If two crimes were against two people were mentioned, then two people should have been arrested if this was about justice and not race.

"Madison Police Chief Mike Koval and others spoke at the news conference but did not take questions from reporters, citing the ongoing investigations in both a potential criminal case against Laird and an internal investigation into the officers involved in the incident.

Koval has so far not named the officers involved due to threats he said have been made against them." (see link at the end)

Koval also said the officers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries a few days back, so we know where all his sympathies lie. I wonder what doctors do for spit in the eye?

The story the cops want to tell sounds like the main question has been answered, like putting Laird in a program rather than jail is a gift. And to Laird and her parents, it probably is. The injustice system terrorizes law abiding black people.

But Laird's "crime" and "disposition" now that she's survived to two white cops are not the main questions. The only question I have is when a cop is going to go to jail for assaulting somebody under the cover of doing police work.

I want to know which laws the cops broke by physically abusing Genele Laird.

Please know that there is little chance that this kind of brutality would have been leveled against a white person.  I've actually seen some video of screaming horrendous white women where the cop just waited for the woman to spend her energy and settle down.

I saw video where one white woman actually tried to steal a flag that was being used in a protest. And when the cop tried to take it back from her, a woman named Michelle Manhunt, she actually wrestled the cop for it. Manhunt physically fought the cop for the flag she was stealing.

White Michele Manhunt

1) was not punched,
2) was not tasered tasered,

3) and no bag was put over her head.

Michele Manhunt also no charges were filed against her.

See for yourself.
