BILL COSBY SUES ONE OF HIS DARKEST ACCUSERS FOR DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER

"Cosby's lawsuit says [Beverly] Johnson joined other women making accusations against him to revive her waning career and to help sell copies of her memoir.

The lawsuit alleges defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress, saying Cosby and Johnson never spent any time alone in his house, he never drugged her and "her story is a lie."

Gee, maybe he chose Johnson to accuse of defamation because he knows he didn't get past first base with her before she knew she was being drugged and took off. Therefore, he's absolutely sure she doesn't have a 30 year old stained dress stored in her mama's safe deposit box ala Monica Lewinsky.  


I don't know much of anything about Johnson. And I don't care one way or another about her. But we've seen exactly what Bill is

1) from his own words in "The Pound Cake Speech" 

2) from the co-stars who knew he was screwing anything that was pale, young, and looked like it wore a skirt once-upon-a-time while married to the ulta-pale Camille before, during, and after the filming of the wholesome Cosby show.

And we knew all this about him long before one woman said one word about drug-em and rape-em and also before Cosby, himself, admitted to why he bought the drugs.

He was not above seducing a young model by showing interest in her father’s cancer. He promised other women his mentorship and career advice before pushing them for sex acts. And he tried to use financial sleight of hand to keep his wife from finding out about his serial philandering.

Bill Cosby admitted to all of this and more over four days of intense questioning 10 years ago at a Philadelphia hotel, where he defended himself in a deposition for a lawsuit filed by a young woman who accused him of drugging and molesting her.

I really can't figure out how the women he "allegedly" attacked won't come out of the woodwork to back Johnson up. And I bet his attorney can't either.


In fact, Bill Cosby's attorney must be laughing all the way to the bank. Camille better have her own bank accounts after all these years.

I ain't playin the white colorblind game OR the black colorism-blind game either. Both **just stop talking about it** groups irritate me equally. No, actually that's not true.

The betrayal and hypocrisy born out of the shame over our own group-level internalized racism bothers me more. The more black female history books I read, the more I see that colorism has changed very little in the black community...and for the very same reason white racism changes so slowly.

The cowards are the most committed in both groups and they scream the loudest. 'Just stop talking about it and it'll go away'

Yeah. Okay. 

Pretend you don't see how pale Camille is and how pale 95% of Cosby's accusers are even when they aren't white. I won't. That man doesn't have to shake a paper bag next to a woman's face, on camera, for me to know what's what with him. Shame on you, if you do.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE To Protect A Serial Rapist

Drugging, sexually assaulting, and raping two dozen women before a man is finally arrested for rape has to take a village's worth people all working toward the same end. And I think the ends that justified the means was this: Keep Darren Sharper making money no matter what.

If Darren Sharper was white you might be able to say he had enough money to protect himself all by himself. But Sharper is black. Rape fits quickly and easily into the black male stereotype. Therefore, somebody had to have been helping him. How else do you rape that many women, police appearing to ignore rape accusation after rape accusation and going so far as to throw away rape kits?


That would take more money than one black man could earn at his relatively young age. Even someone older, like Bill Cosby, would need assistance.

So now we have to think about who would have the motive to assist him along such a foul path.

Keep this in mind as you ponder: If people can ignore that pedophile Sandusky in order to win pennants -or whatever it is  you get when you win at college football- people will ignore absolutely anything for the millions of dollars at stake in pro football.

Think about the path of the money that Darren Sharper was earning. It wasn't just flowing into to him and his family. That moola was flowing upward and outward toward owners, advertisers, TV execs, etc. There were a lots-a-folk interested in him staying on track.


Let us also keep in mind that law enforcement only decided to "catch" him and stop him long after he was no longer on a highly rated, popular, prime-time, family oriented, TV show, making the big bucks for television execs. He was only doing standup comedy again when they... um...wait...correction...I MEAN they decided to "catch" Sharper and stop him only after he stopped playing pro-ball, when he was only a TV Commentator. We didn't hear much of anything about his drugging and raping hobby at the height of his career.

And since it seems hard to believe a grown man just starts serial raping as he approaches 40, this might mean the village was working overtime when Sharper was at the height of his career because, again, his going to jail when he was da-man and popular would have represented the loss of a lot of money for people who summer on the yacht in the South of France and such. 

Of course it could be the rape kits were thrown away, not because of a pay off or  rich, important, pale people telling the pale police to look the other way. 

It could simply be the first two rape kits were thrown out because cops (of all shades) were born into a society where many people believe that false accusations of rape are as prevalent as genuine accusations of rape when all studies show that this simply isn't true.

Whether you think false rape happens at a rate of 2% or 8%,  deciding that false accusations of rape are just as problematic as rape makes about as much sense as deciding black cops killing unarmed white people is as big a problem as white cops killing unarmed black people....just because that's the way you think it logicallyshould be and nobody can really prove it to that it isn't the way you think it should be ...despite all stats to the contrary.

Anyway.

The video below is educational but chilling.  As you watch, think about how many people at the police station, in court houses, at his job, how many newspapers and magazines turned away from multiple accusations of drug-em AND rape-em so that Darren Sharper could....

Choosing Rape over Race

But as I vomited in the backseat of the taxi that Cosby ushered me into after he assaulted me one night in the late 1980s, that Dr. Huxtable image no longer made sense. I felt both physically violated and emotionally bamboozled.

Still, I didn’t want the image of Dr. Huxtable reduced to that of a criminal. For so many of the African-American men I knew, William H. Cosby, Ed.D. provided a much-needed wholesome image of success, and the character he made famous was their model for self-worth and manhood. I knew that, in my reluctance to add my assault to the allegations facing Cosby, I was allowing race to trump rape...”


As I debated whether to come forward, I struggled with where my allegiances should lie – with the women who were sexually victimized or with black America, which had been systemically victimized. I called several friends for advice. While some encouraged me to speak out, others were cautious – even angry.

One friend, an African American man, insisted I should stay quiet: “You will be eaten alive, and for what? The black community is not going to support you.” It wasn’t what I wanted to hear, but I think it was his way of protecting me.


When I finally told my story in the New York Daily News in November, it was hard for me to look other African American people in the eye. On some level, I felt that I had betrayed black America. And some of my African American friends seemed too hurt by the damage to Cosby’s image to offer me any support. The friend who had dismissed the stories of Cosby’s white accusers, for instance, didn’t offer me any words of comfort.
