When former first lady Michelle Obama walked into a D.C. high school classroom, the stunned students erupted in tears. One student even darted out of the classroom to regain her composure before she could sit next to her. Obama, who still lives in Washington, made a surprise visit Tuesday to Ballou STAY High School to speak with 14 students for two hours. Upon arriving, she hugged each of them before taking her seat in the circle

She's still working on her REACH HIGHER initiative. Her commitment to students isn't over just because her husband isn't in the white house anymore.
She stayed for two hours and talked about the struggle and life goals.

"One night, President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too luxurious. 

When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the president's secret service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. 

They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner."

President Obama said, "Why was he so interested in talking to you." 

Michelle said, "When we were teenagers he said he was madly in love with me." 

President Obama said, "So if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant.

Michelle responded, "No. If I had married him, he would now be the President."

But know this: Our first lady is a black feminst that most definitely knew her worth. THAT'S no joke, folktale, or fairy tale.  She was a black female role model worthy of the title

I didn't think I'd hear a truth this clear from either one of the Obamas until after they'd been out of the White House for a decade or more.



I couldn't believe it when our FIRST BLACK FIRST LADY MRS. MICHELLE OBAMA started talking about all of the things most black women had guessed she was going through as Barack Obama ran for president the first time. I could see how hemmed in she felt. I could see it. Every time she got anywhere near one syllable of the honesty she's gave out here, she was labeled as militant. (I most definitely remember how I felt when I saw her first magazine cover, that drawing of her in afro, machine, gun, and military helmet. I'll never forget it. Ever.)

She spoke about how she and Barack have been treated. I can't believe she took it ALL THE WAY THERE.
