COSBY SCANDAL PROVES BLACK WOMEN'S LIVES STILL DON'T MATTER

Statute Of Limitations and other technicalities saved Cosby in Los Angeles. Los Angeles declines to indict (January 2016)

Feeling Rebloggy
The support of Cosby by black men and women who might otherwise consider themselves freedom fighters in the struggle for black liberation has been perplexing at best and hypocritical at worst, especially when considering that some of Cosby's alleged victims were black, too.

It reveals the dangerous limitations of a black politic of liberation that is concerned with white racial supremacy but not cued into the violent reality of intra-community misogyny and sexual assault. This lack of dual focus has harmed black women throughout history.

BRIAN ENCINIA INDICTED FOR PERJURY ON SANDRA BLAND CASE

It's not enough.

This isn't nearly enough.

Officer Brian Encinia was indicted on a misdemeanor perjury charge said a special prosecutor on January 6 2016.

Encinia said he removed Sandra Bland from her car in order to conduct a safe traffic inspection but a Texas grand jury found that statement to be false. The perjury charge is only a misdemeanor, which means the maximum prison sentence is a one year or there could be a maximum fine of $4,000.

What happened to something like a false arrest, I don't know. I wonder if that was even seriously on the table, special prosecutor or not special prosecutor. More information will come out later, I suppose.

Here's to hoping the indictment alone ensures Encinia can never be an officer in Texas or anywhere else. Maybe the criminal case will lead to Bland's family being able to sue the city broke.

Let us also hope that this is a baby step toward getting a real indictment on more bad cops nationwide.

WILDFLOWER by Skylark

“…Be careful
how you touch her
for she’ll awaken

And sleep’s the only freedom that she knows

And when you walk into her eyes you won’t believe

The way she’s always paying for a debt she never owes

And a silent wind still blows that only she can hear

And so she goes...

Let her cry, for she’s a lady

Let her dream, for she’s a child

Let the rain fall down upon her

She’s a free and gentle flower, growing wild.”

WATCHING VANILLA ISIS IN OREGON WHILE REMEMBERING CHOCOLATE MOVE IN PHILLY

Anybody thinking about the 1985 police bombing of M.O.V.E. in Philadelphia just about now?

If not you don't remember, please read more:

"After my stories last week on the 30th anniversary of the MOVE siege in West Philadelphia in 1985, in which Philadelphia police dropped a bomb on a [black] residential neighborhood, leaving 11 dead — including five children — we were surprised by how many people told us they'd never heard of the bombing."

HILARIOUS: BLACK WOMAN TAKES THE TIME TO TEACH WHITE CO-WORKER AFTER RACIST ATTACK

This woman goes to her new job and sits at her new desk that has her name plate on it, and a white man walks up to introduce himself. When La Tora tells him her name and just one of the things he says is that he can't even try to pronounce "hood black girl names."

Check out her response. It shall go down into the Black Twitter History Book.

http://www.clutchmagonline.com/2016/01/woman-hilariously-shuts-down-white-co-worker-who-refuses-to-call-her-by-her-hood-black-girl-name/

After you laugh, think about this: The only thing I wish she'd done different is make him write her an apology. Clearly, he was dumb enough to possibly do it ---> She could have turned it into H.R. as an official complaint.

EXPLAIN A FILM PLOT BADLY: CHIRAQ

Googled Film Plot: "The girlfriend (Teyonah Parris) of a Chicago gang leader (Nick Cannon) persuades other frustrated women to abstain from sex until their men agree to end the senseless cycle of violence."

DebLynn Translated Film Plot:

Black Queens,
whose only power resides between their legs, close those legs
making Black Kings realize
their own king-liness

and black-on-black crime stops dead.

Theme Song: What's Segregation, Sexism, Poverty, and Hopelessness Got To Do With It?

The official plot was gag-worthy. And Spike Lee has admitted, in a minimalist way,  to the sexist content of all films. After a friend of a friend of a friend gave a blow by blow of what actually happened in the film, the Black Queens closing their legs thing was in my head to stay so...I'll have to see it on Amazon or HBO or something for free.

And Nick Cannon was a lead or supporting actor? He's cute, always will be, but really? Really?

BILL COSBY ACCUSER ON PUTTING RACE BEFORE RAPE

Jewell Allison, one of the black women e-raced during the Bill Cosby Scandal

"Like many of the women who say they were assaulted by Bill Cosby, it took me two decades to gain the courage to reveal it publicly. His accusers – mostly white, so far – have faced retaliation, humiliation and skepticism by coming forward. As an African American woman, I felt the stakes for me were even higher. Historic images of black men being vilified en masse as sexually violent sent chills through my body. Telling my story wouldn’t only help bring down Cosby; I feared it would undermine the entire African American community.
When I first heard Andrea Constand and Tamara Green publicly tell their stories about being drugged and assaulted by Cosby, I wasn’t relieved; I was terrified. I knew these women weren’t fabricating stories and conspiring to destroy America’s favorite dad, but I did not want to see yet another African American man vilified in the media. "

Beverly Johnson

I've said it before. I'll say it again. There's no way I'd have come forward, publicly, in the 1980s and 1990s if Bill Cosby raped me. After watching black people stampede over Anita Hill to support Clarence Thomas, I'll bet each and every one of his black and brown victims knew she was right to keep her mouth shut.
Michelle Hurd
The entire black community ought to be ashamed of its support of Thomas, those who actually defended Thomas and those who have parents with cajones enough to admit they supported Thomas.

A huge slice of  the black community ought to be ashamed of its continued support of Bill Cosby too.

The only way to not know that Cosby bought knock out drugs (Quaaludes are not fun time, high drugs) in order to have sex with them simply doesn't want to know.
And trotting out...
"only white women were raped by Cosby (if he did it) and why should we care about that if white people don't care about the murders of black men enough to indict"

Renita Hill

...is problematic in itself if we are claiming to be anti-racist rather than anti-white. This sentiment is also problematic if we are not trying to mimic the worst of white racists.

But one of the worst things about this supposedly pro-black argument is that it e-races black women
again.

Lachele Covington

Our race problems are not only black men problems.  Believe this. Believe this to your bone marrow if you don't already.

I just read a piece the other day that compared white concern for white female victims of Bill Cosby (as if the black women don't exist) to the lack of white concern for black male victims of white police (as if the black women don't exist). Not one black female name was mentioned in this comparison. And it was damn hard to get non-feminist people to even see this, much less see this as problematic.

The e-race-sure of black people by white people is so expected it causes more exasperation than outrage...until another police murder occurs. The e-race-sure of black women by black men when they are raped or murdered though damn near AS expected it is galling. But the e-race-sure of black women by other black women? I find that kind almost humiliating in a way that's hard to describe.

Angela Leslie

We, black women, have got to get smarter about taking care of number one first. That's how you get to have a whole self to give to someone else. It is basic to respect self enough to expect reciprocation and BEFORE they binding to another.  We make one another weaker when we refuse to do this out of some sort of false loyalty.

Besides, Bill Cosby was telling us who he is long before the Drug-Em-And-Rape-Em scandal broke.

Those pictured above are just some of the black and women of color that have accused Bill Cosby of drugging them and/or raping them. I saw an interview of one woman of color, that woke up after being knocked out by Cosby, who doesn't have enough memory left (thanks to the knock out drug) to know what happened to her at all. As I recall she woke up with her clothing on but in disarray.

ORGASM INEQUALITY A.K.A. BAD-LOVER-ITIS SYNDROME

Have you ever been with that guy who is overly impressed with his own size? You know the guy I'm talking about, right? That guy whose hands are useless except for holding his own weight off you or shifting your hips slightly to the left or right. That guy whose mouth and tongue are a big fat zero once the north-side kissing is done?
I've actually gotten so I like a guy with a little less downstairs so long as he's got enough going on upstairs that he tends to make quite a bit more effort to learn me and my body. In short, I find that over-confidence in size is a high speed freeway to bad-lover-itis syndrome. The other thing that lands men in bad lover-itis land quick, fast, and in a hurry is sexism and/or patriarchy.
"Orgasm doesn’t have to be the focus of sex, but if a woman wants one, she should have as much of a right to request it as anyone else does.
When people say that women’s bodies are more difficult – and these generalizations typically refer to cis women and are accompanied by rants about how complicated vaginas are – they teach cis women that an orgasm is too tall an order....
The view that cis women are hard to please maintains what sociologists call the orgasm gap, in which men have three orgasms for every one a woman enjoys, and 57% of women orgasm during all or most of their sexual encounters, but 95% say their partners do. "

As this article says/implies over and over again -- men are seen as more important than women in every aspect of life. That this inequality strikes out over and over again in the bedroom doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I must have come out of the womb a feminist. I tried to deny it for a while, since the black community (foolishly) hates on it so much. But I am one to the core. This has to be why I have always been confused by a man complaining about women not liking sex that much while appearing not to know that he is, in essence, announcing himself as a bad lover. In shock and awe I have heard these admissions in public from cis men and watched as other bad-lover-itis syndrome sufferers shake their heads in agreement in regards to female lack of interest in having sex with them.

Since I first heard the word "sex" and knew what it meant, I knew that the first point of investigation when a woman doesn't orgasm or enjoy sex in a heterosexual relationship would be to see if the man she's with is a good or bad in bed.

Over-simplistic? Okay. There are a few physical ailments that could be the reason a woman doesn't enjoy sex and/or orgasm. But if we're talking about the majority of heterosexual women? I say that the lack of investigation into a man's having bad-lover-itis syndrome has probably deprived millions of heterosexual women of the big "O" This becomes especially clear if you use this quote as a measuring stick:
"Lisa Wade points out, the orgasm gap is conditional. Lesbians report orgasming 74.7% of the time, only 10 percentage points lower than gay men. In addition, women take under four minutes on average to masturbate to orgasm."

More indications that "orgasm inequality is mostly a case of cis men having bad-lover-itis:
"30 percent of men can't find the clitoris on a diagram, " --and when so many women can't climax with penetration alone.

An indication that women's self-worth is way too low in this anti-feminist culture:
"25% of women can't find the clitoris on a diagram," --and when so many women can't climax with penetration alone. <--doesn a="" bad-lover-itis="" body="." font="" for="" her="" know="" own="" searching="" sufferer="" syndrome="">

As a young lass, I think I'd been having sex for two years before I was with a man who had the tool, the hands, and the mouth all going. Prior to him? I adored sex for the closeness and not the thrill because there wasn't a thrill a lot of times. It hurts me when 40 year old cis women say they can take or leave sex and they always could.. I always wind up thinking, "Wow, you've never had it done right. There are places on your own body that you don't even recognize as erotic zones. You poor thing." There's all kinds of sexist talk among men about how women will kick a man to the curb for not making enough money (gold digger accusations) etc. I'm waiting for the day when guy talk includes twice as much time whining about how women are kicking them to the curb because they were too elitist and lazy to get the job done in the bedroom.
